General educational guidance. Confirm current requirements for your goods and procedure; no rates, deadlines or outcomes are guaranteed.
Start with the declaration, not a guessed rate
Customs duties cannot be determined reliably from a product name alone. Prepare the technical description, value information, origin and intended customs procedure. Ask the responsible declarant or your chosen licensed broker to explain the assessed charges and their relationship to the declaration. Ratin does not assess taxes or issue binding decisions.
Separate the amounts you are being asked to pay
Ask for an itemised breakdown distinguishing customs taxes, transport or storage charges and professional service fees. A broker's fee is not the same as a payment to customs. Ratin is an advisor and facilitator, not a customs payment institution or tax collector.
Confirm the official payment route
The Ministry's customs guide describes payment through commercial banks, public cashier offices or GÜMKART. Availability depends on the relevant transaction; do not assume every bank or online channel accepts every payment. Confirm the current route with the responsible customs administration and match the payer, declaration reference and amount before paying. Do not use an unverified account supplied by an unsolicited message.
Keep evidence and confirm the next step
Keep the payment receipt and declaration reference. Ask the responsible professional to confirm how payment is reflected in the customs process. Paying an amount does not itself prove release: inspections, document checks or other requirements may remain.
Questions to resolve before payment
- Which declaration and assessed charge does this payment concern?
- Is the beneficiary and payment route verified independently?
- Are taxes separate from the broker's invoice and freight costs?
- What remains before release and delivery?
Example: a rock salt shipment
An invoice describing only “salt” is not enough to calculate duties. Prepare the intended use, technical information and relevant documents for review. This is an educational scenario, not a Ratin customer case. No fixed duty rate or clearance time is promised.
