General educational guidance. Confirm current requirements for your goods and procedure; no rates, deadlines or outcomes are guaranteed.
1. Define the shipment before booking
Record the goods, intended use, origin, destination, packaging and proposed quantities. Confirm whether the project concerns an import into Türkiye, export or transit; these are different procedures. Supplier descriptions and suggested tariff codes require review rather than automatic adoption.
2. Assign responsibilities
Identify the seller, buyer, carrier, freight coordinator and responsible declarant. Record the agreed delivery rule and named place. Clarify who arranges transport, insurance, customs formalities and payment. Incoterms do not replace the applicable customs requirements.
3. Check documents and restrictions
Prepare available invoices, packing details and transport information. Compare descriptions, package counts and labelled net and gross weights. Ask the responsible professional which additional permits, evidence or inspections apply to these goods and this procedure. This is not a universal document list.
4. Coordinate dispatch and arrival information
Agree the freight handoff, transport references and responsibility for required filings before dispatch. The Ministry describes pre-arrival summary declarations and roles for the party bringing goods into Türkiye or responsible for carriage, with other eligible parties or representatives in specified circumstances. Confirm the applicable filing requirements rather than guessing a deadline.
5. Distinguish arrival from release
Physical arrival does not mean customs clearance. Goods must be presented and placed under the applicable procedure. Release for free circulation involves relevant formalities, trade-policy measures and legally due taxes. Examinations or missing information may affect the next step; no fixed clearance time is promised.
6. Arrange delivery after the relevant release
Confirm release status with the responsible declarant before final collection. Reconcile delivery records with the shipment and record damage or discrepancies through the carrier's process. Keep transport, customs and payment references organised.
Where Ratin can help
Ratin can organise the commercial brief, document questions and discussions with your chosen licensed broker and freight parties. It is not a commodity seller, carrier or licensed customs broker and does not guarantee supply, transport dates or clearance. For rock salt, include intended use and supplier evidence rather than assuming specifications.
